Kind Together is operated by Making The Difference NGO (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run doorstep donation pickups and drop-offs.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

Account & contact: name, mobile number, email, and (for pickups/drops) your address.
Location: the approximate coordinates of your saved address, used only to check service-area coverage and find the nearest warehouse.
Donation activity: the items you donate, weights, pickup/drop history, points, and any photos you upload.
Payments: money donations are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your full card/UPI details — Razorpay does.
Technical: basic device/log data needed to keep the service secure and working.

3. Why we use it (purpose)

To create your account and sign you in (one-time codes).
To schedule, route, and complete pickups and drop-offs.
To credit reward points and show your impact.
To process money donations and issue receipts.
To send you service messages about your donations.

4. Consent

We process your personal data based on the consent you give when you create your account. It is freely given, specific, and informed, and you can withdraw it at any timeby contacting our Grievance Officer (below) — this won't affect processing done before withdrawal.

5. Who we share it with

Only as needed to run the service: our collectors/warehouse/centre staff (to fulfil your pickup), Razorpay (payments), and our messaging provider (to send verification codes and updates). We do not sell your personal data.

6. Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)

Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
Ask us to correct or complete inaccurate data.
Ask us to erase data we no longer need.
Nominate someone to exercise your rights if you cannot.
Withdraw consent and raise a grievance.

7. Retention & security

We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete it. We apply reasonable security safeguards to protect it. No method is 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
